When can we expect results from the Saskatchewan ridings that were too close to call on election night?

Sask. Party set to form majority government, but races remain close in 7 ridings.

The Sask. Party is leading or projected to win in 32 ridings, securing a path to a majority government. However, final results from the 2024 Saskatchewan provincial election may take a few more days, with seven tight races still pending.

As of 1 a.m. CST on Tuesday, the Sask. Party held leads or was declared elected in 35 seats compared to the NDP’s 26. In Saskatchewan, a minimum of 31 seats is needed to form a majority government.

This marks the fifth consecutive majority government for the Saskatchewan Party, a record last achieved when Tommy Douglas led the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation to five straight majorities from 1944 to 1961.

CBC News has yet to project winners in seven close ridings. Mail-in ballots, which could sway these outcomes, are scheduled for counting on Wednesday. Currently, the NDP leads in four of these close races, with the Sask. Party leading in three.

**Why don’t we know yet?**

In these close ridings, the gap between the leading and second-place candidates is narrower than the number of outstanding mail-in ballots.

Mail-in ballots returned by October 26 will be counted on October 30.

Any mail-in ballots received between October 27 and November 7 will be included in the final count on November 9, along with ballots from hospital patients and displaced voters.

**Too Close to Call**
