Jordan Love of the Packers assisted off the field following apparent leg injury

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was unable to finish Friday's season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles after sustaining an apparent lower left leg injury with just 6 seconds remaining in a 34-29 loss in São Paulo.

Love required assistance to reach the sideline, and while he seemed to move a bit more comfortably as he headed to the locker room, he still needed support from head athletic trainer Nate Weir and running back Josh Jacobs, who helped him under each arm.

When asked twice about Love's condition during the postgame press conference, Coach Matt LaFleur responded both times: 'I don't know.'

Love did not address reporters following the game.

Love was attempting to lead the Packers on a final drive. After a 33-yard pass to Jayden Reed that brought the Packers to their own 49-yard line, Love dropped back to throw on the next play. He was hit by Eagles defenders Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat, twisting his leg as he managed to flip the ball behind him to running back Josh Jacobs.

Malik Willis, recently acquired in a trade from the Titans, took the final two snaps of the game—a pass incompletion and a sack. The only other quarterback currently under contract with the Packers is Sean Clifford, last year's backup, who was released during final cuts but re-signed to the practice squad.

Love’s injury occurred in his first regular-season game since signing a four-year, $220 million contract on July 26, tying him as the NFL’s highest-paid player. He played only three snaps in the preseason opener and did not participate in the final two exhibition games.

Love ended the game completing 17 of 34 passes for 260 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.
