Dolly Parton’s sister urges prayers after health issues delay concerts

Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida Parton, has asked fans worldwide to pray for the country music legend after recent health issues forced her to postpone her Las Vegas concerts.

In a Facebook post, Freida shared, “Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately.”

Expressing her faith, Freida continued, “I truly believe in the power of prayer and ask everyone who loves her to join me as prayer warriors. She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all these prayers, I know she’ll be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you.

On Sept. 28, Dolly Parton announced via social media that she would be postponing her upcoming Las Vegas residency shows.

“I want my fans and the public to hear directly from me — unfortunately, I need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” she wrote. “As many of you know, I’ve been facing some health challenges, and my doctors have advised that I undergo a few medical procedures.”

Parton had been scheduled to perform six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace later this year.

Parton added, “You spend your hard-earned money to see me perform, and I want to make sure I’m at my very best for you.”

She went on to say, “I’ll still be working on my projects here in Nashville, but I just need a little time to get show-ready, as they say. And don’t worry — I’m not quitting the business. God hasn’t told me to stop yet.”

The “9 to 5” singer concluded, “He’s simply telling me to slow down for now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for your understanding.
